This Privacy Policy describes how Tunnel Daze LLC ("Tunnel Daze," "we," "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Tunnel Daze platform, including our website and mobile applications (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here and to our Terms of Service.
Information We Collect
Account information: username, password (stored as a salted hash), email address, first and last name, school, graduation class and season, field of study, and optional profile details such as your "about" text and business information.
Content you create: posts (text, photos, and videos), comments, likes, and your profile avatar.
Messages: direct messages you send and receive, including read status. Messages are stored on our servers so they can be delivered and displayed; they are not end-to-end encrypted.
Social connections: your friends, followers, follow and friend requests, and users you have blocked or reported.
Preferences: notification settings and similar account preferences.
Technical and log data: IP address, browser or device type, operating system, and timestamps of requests, collected automatically for security, debugging, and abuse prevention.
How We Use Information
To operate the Service: displaying your profile and content, delivering messages, and maintaining your social connections.
To keep the Service safe: enforcing blocks, reviewing reports, preventing abuse, and securing accounts.
To communicate with you: account emails such as waitlist verification, password reset, and login alerts, and — if you enable them — notifications about activity like new messages, likes, comments, and follow requests.
To improve the Service: understanding aggregate usage and diagnosing errors.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your information for third-party advertising.
How Information Is Shared
With other users: your profile and content are visible to other users according to your audience choices (for example, public posts versus friends-only posts). Direct messages are visible to their participants.
Service providers: we use infrastructure providers to run the Service, including cloud hosting and media storage (DigitalOcean) and email delivery providers. These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
Notification delivery: if you use our mobile applications, push notifications are delivered through Apple Push Notification service and/or Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, which act as delivery processors for notification payloads.
Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Tunnel Daze or its users.
Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, it is deactivated immediately and permanently deleted after a 30-day grace period, at which point your profile, posts, comments, likes, messages, social connections, and stored media are removed from our systems. Residual copies may persist briefly in backups and server logs before being purged. As noted in our Terms of Service, we do not guarantee preservation of any data.

When you request deletion, your account and content are hidden immediately. If you change your mind, log back in within 30 days to cancel the deletion and restore your account. After 30 days, deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed credentials, and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children and Minors
The Service is intended for college students and alumni and is not directed at children or minors. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if we learn that we have, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
Regional Restrictions
As stated in our Terms of Service, the Service is not intended for use by individuals located within the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date, and your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
